GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville, FL — The Pentecostals of Gainesville, a local church founded in 1948, are excited to announce their move to a new and significantly larger location. The transition will be marked by a day of celebration and community events on Sunday, July 27.

The day will begin at 10:00 AM with a special final service at the church’s current location, 8105 NW 23rd Avenue. This commemorative service will feature Bishop Jeff Arnold, who pastored The Pentecostals for over three decades. Under his leadership, the NW 23rd Avenue campus was built, and in 1999, the congregation moved into that facility.

Later in the afternoon, members and guests will participate in a celebratory parade of cars from the old building to the new location at 2022 SW 122nd Street (Parker Road).

The celebration will conclude with a 6:00 PM inaugural service at the new facility. Pastor Jimmy Toney will deliver the message, and the church choir will lead worship in what is expected to be a powerful and uplifting evening to round out this momentous weekend.

“This property is so much larger than the one we had,” says longtime member Sharon Papciak, whose parents were founding members of the church. “I think about all the growth we can have at this church because everything is so much larger. It’s progress—and I love progress. With God’s help, we will fill this church, this great big sanctuary, with a lot of hungry people in Gainesville. And I do believe there are a lot of people hungry for Truth, and that’s what this church stands for.”

The move represents more than a change in location—it’s a symbol of the church’s continued growth, legacy, and commitment to serving the city with hope, truth, and community.

Pastor Jimmy Toney adds, “God is doing great things in and through our church, and I am inviting you to come and experience it for yourself.”
