App combines clear parking rules with real-time driver sharing to reduce circling and congestion in New York City

NEW YORK –  New York City drivers often spend a lot of time trying to understand parking rules, including street cleaning schedules and other curbside restrictions. Many end up circling city blocks while looking for a legal parking space, leading to unnecessary tickets that can cost drivers more than $100, increased traffic, and added stress during everyday driving.

Spotlink is a New York City app designed to make parking rules easier to understand and help drivers spend less time circling. The app provides clear, location-specific information about curbside rules — including street cleaning schedules and fire hydrant restrictions — and can alert drivers ahead of upcoming rule changes so they have time to move their vehicle before a violation occurs.

Drivers using Spotlink can share when they are leaving a parking spot, giving others nearby a clearer sense of where space may soon be available. This shared, real-time information helps reduce unnecessary circling and makes better use of limited curb space.

“Most drivers aren’t trying to break the rules — they’re just trying to understand them,” said a Spotlink representative. “By sharing clear curbside information and when spots are opening up, drivers can help each other spend less time circling and keep city traffic moving.”

Spotlink (listed as “Spotlink – CurbAI” in app stores) is accessible to drivers without a subscription and is built as a community-focused tool to support smoother, less congested city driving.
