AI Rental Platform Letty Launches to Help London Renters Search Flats Easier

London, UK — With renters now spending up to 40% of their income on rent, finding a decent flat has become less about choice and more about survival. Letty (Lettyapp.io), a new AI-powered rental platform, aims to change that by helping renters search smarter — and by telling them the truth about listings that most portals leave out.

Now open in early public beta, Letty allows renters to search for homes using natural language rather than rigid filters. Instead of ticking boxes, users can simply ask for what they want — for example, “a quiet two-bed near Victoria Park under £2,000” — and receive results that reflect intent, not just keywords.

But search is only part of the problem Letty is trying to solve.

“Renting in the UK is opaque by design,” said Abey Onalaja, founder of Letty.  “Listings rarely tell you what really matters — whether a flat is overpriced, poorly managed, or likely to disappear in hours. As a renter myself, I wanted to build something that looks out for the renter, not just the transaction.”

What sets Letty apart is its focus on transparency and guidance, not just discovery. As renters browse listings, the platform provides real-time explanations, context, and ‘red flag’ warnings — calling out unrealistic pricing, vague descriptions, and signals that a listing may be misleading. Early social content highlighting these red flags has consistently outperformed traditional property advice, revealing how hungry renters are for honest insight.

The platform brings together:

  • Conversational search, allowing renters to describe what they want in plain English
  • Red flag detection and listing explanations, helping renters spot potential issues early
  • Context-aware guidance, explaining trade-offs, next steps, and rental norms in real time
  • Neighbourhood insights powered by government data, including crime, schools, and transport
  • A mobile-first experience, designed for how renters actually search in fast-moving markets

Letty is currently focused on the renter experience. Early traction has been driven organically through social channels, where transparent breakdowns of rental listings have resonated strongly with frustrated renters. Future phases will introduce tools for landlords and letting agents, with the aim of improving clarity and communication across the rental process.
