NEW CANEY, Texas – The Greater East Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and networking event today to celebrate the grand opening of Books-A-Million at Valley Ranch Town Center in New Caney. The event took place at 11:30 a.m. at the store’s location, 21680 Market Place Dr, New Caney, TX 77357.

The new Books-A-Million store brings a premier book retail experience to the New Caney and Cleveland, Texas community, offering an extensive selection of books, magazines, collectibles, toys, technology, gifts, and specialty departments. Select locations also feature the Joe Muggs® Café, serving gourmet coffees, teas, and desserts.

Founded in 1917 as a street corner newsstand in Florence, Alabama, Books-A-Million has grown to become the second largest book retailer in the nation and the premier book retailing chain in the Southeastern United States. Based in Birmingham, Alabama, the company currently operates more than 260 stores across 32 states and the District of Columbia.

In addition to its retail operations, Books-A-Million, Inc. includes American Wholesale Book Company (book wholesale and distribution), an e-commerce division at BOOKSAMILLION.COM, and NetCentral, an internet development and services company based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Books-A-Million stores range from 4,000 to 30,000 square feet and feature specialized category shops, including “Faithpoint,” which showcases Christian references and writings.
