Halie brings a highly sought-after expertise in specialized areas, significantly expanding the center’s capacity to serve clients with complex mental health needs.
“We are excited to announce that after searching for a therapist that would bring a needed expertise to our center, Halie Banaghan will be joining our practice as of December 29th,” says Shane Porter, a therapist and founder of the Counseling Center of New Smyrna Beach. “Halie’s specialization in trauma, addictions, and emotional dysregulation, combined with her advanced training, ensures our community has access to critical, trauma-informed care.”

Halie Banaghan specializes in trauma, addictions, emotional dysregulation, dual diagnosis, and high-acuity needs. Her therapeutic approach is distinguished by her dedication to advanced training:
- Trauma-Focused Care: Halie is EMDR-trained (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a highly effective treatment for trauma and PTSD.
- Addiction Focus: She is currently pursuing her MCAP (Master’s Certified Addiction Professional) certification, recognizing how closely trauma and substance use are woven together.
