Veteran executive and board leader will support CEOs, executive teams, and boards through growth, complexity, and high-stakes transitions.

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. – Sagency, a leadership, strategy, and executive search firm, announced that Kathy Thornton-Bias has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor. In this role, she partners with CEOs, executive teams, and boards to shape smart strategy, align leadership, and guide organizations through complex transitions.

Kathy is a nationally respected executive and advisor with more than 30 years of leadership experience across industries, including luxury consumer brands, cultural institutions, and mission-driven nonprofits. Her career includes senior roles at Bang & Olufsen North America, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and Boys and Girls Clubs, the nation’s largest youth-serving organization. She is widely recognized for turning bold vision into clear strategy, disciplined execution, and measurable results.

“Kathy has been advising Sagency clients for several months and is already adding significant value. She brings strategic clarity, seasoned operating experience, and a deep understanding of how leadership really works day to day,” said Mike Meagher, Founder and CEO of Sagency. “Our clients trust Kathy because she genuinely cares about their success, has led through similar challenges, and is not afraid to challenge their thinking. She knows the weight of their role and helps them move forward with confidence.”

Throughout her career, Kathy has led organizations through brand repositioning, market expansion, culture change, and executive transitions. She is especially skilled at helping leadership teams align around a shared direction and then execute in a way that is both disciplined and people centered.

“I chose to work with Sagency because our views of leadership are aligned,” said Kathy Thornton-Bias. “I care about helping leaders grow, building strong teams, and strengthening the communities they serve. Sagency’s clients are doing important work, and I am honored to support them as they navigate growth and change.”

A committed civic leader, Kathy has served on boards including the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Ron Brown Scholars Program, the University of Virginia College of Arts & Sciences, and Versiti Blood Center. She was appointed by Governor Tony Evers to Wisconsin’s Unemployment Advisory Council and has been recognized nationally by Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 and Essence Magazine’s Game Changers.

Kathy holds a BA in Rhetoric and Communications from the University of Virginia and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, she is helping Sagency expand into new markets while continuing to serve clients nationwide.
